Malena Heldmann is a multidisciplinary Creative with a background in Art Direction and Communication Design. I am outgoing, expressive and colorful, a nature lover, I am the friend that meditates and who is addicted to ice cold showers, unafraid to challenge myself or to walk the extra mile.
With expertise in both conception and production, Malena works in a multidisciplinary role, from developing design solutions all the way to final execution, ideally a documentary film that is being shot on a faraway island where I get to go. Her practice mainly consists of creative direction, photography, moving imagery, branding, and exhibition curation – everything with a strong focus on storytelling. My work is probably as diverse as my internets and I often celebrate extremes: minimalism and maximalism as siblings rather than enemies. I like it colourful, I like it minimal, I like originality, but also weirdness. I enjoy overstimulating and colour-drenched designs as much as I enjoy dark photography.
Driven by Malena’s interest in complex human-centered, psychological and impact driven themes, her work often challenges the collective understanding of contemporary society and mainstream consciousness. And today, after years between Berlin, Shanghai, London and New York I still find myself everywhere and nowhere figuring out how to use my creativity to make this world a brighter place.
